Printable Shopping List

Healthy grocery shopping list please?

I want to start eating healthier! I went shopping to Target but don't think I did anything good.. I bought bananas, strawberries, wheat spaghetti pasta, peanut butter and jelly, wheat bread, wheat bagels, 1/3 less fat cream cheese.. but none of this is good for me to take to work. I need something I can take to work for lunch, eat at dinner time, and for breakfast? Please help me..

  1. For breakfast, eating eggs is a good source of protein which the body needs. Also eating whole grain cereals, like Cheerios, is a good choice. Having fruit for lunch is a very good source of the glucose your body needs for energy and also a very good source of the vitamins you need. Peanut butter and jelly is a good choice too for the nutrients, especially with wheat bread. Cream cheese is not necessarily bad for you, just as long as you stick with low fat, and it's certainly better than than butter. Basically stay away from processed stuff, like pop tarts and hot pockets, and stay away from stuff like bacon. Pork chops aren't bad, but bacon is. Meat by the way for the most part is not a bad food. It is a good source of protein, which our bodies need for energy.
  2. Breakfast: A whole wheat english muffin with Laughing Cow (any flavor)cheese spread on it while they're still hot so it melts a little. 1 cup of red seedless grapes, and a glass of skim milk. Snack: A small handful of no salt added almonds/mixed nuts. Lunch: A turkey sandwich with whole wheat bread, mustard, low-sodium deli turkey, low-fat cheese, lettuce, and tomato. And baby carrots/celery with a veggie dip. Snack: A small apple and a low-fat string cheese. Dinner: About 11 ounces raw boneless/skinless chicken breast cut up into bite sized pieces. EVOO in a pan, brown chicken, add garlic powder, red & black pepper, and sea salt. Add about 1/4 cup of chunky salsa and simmer until it's combined. 2 cups of rinsed chopped romaine lettuce. Add salsa chicken and a little ranch dressing. I use Kraft Peppercorn Ranch. YUM! Dessert: Weight Watcher Giant Fudge Bar. (All of Weight Watchers desserts are good.)
