FREE Photo Editor like picture it 9?
My desktop has Picture it! Photo Premium 9. I love that program, it seems to be the only program that does everything I use it for. I don't just use it to edit my photos, I use it to create graphics. basically I don't have the disk and since there is no way to just transfer the program to my laptop, im out of luck. So I'll list the things I liked about PIPP9 and if anyone knows of free software like it it would help alot. 1. It allows a blank 'canvas' that can be resized in pixels, and inches. Also the dpi can be adjusted. 2. If you don't put a background on the blank canvas then its a clear background. which i use alot. 3. it has a "stack" not layers. things can be moved up and down in th stack depending on where you want them in the image. (on top of something under somthing else etc.) 4. I can open a ton of images in one workspace, and kinda of collage them all into my design or photo. Selecting and croping them or pieces of them if i want and placing them anywhere. 5. Simple User Friendly Interface!!! I have Corel Paint SHop Pro X2 Sureeee I'd love to use it....if it was freaking possible. there does that remind you of anything else? or am I gonna have to buy it again? The desktop is XP the laptop is Win 7

- Aw...I started out with an earlier version of Picture It! and loved it. I'm still psychologically scarred from having to move up to Photoshop Elements, Photoshop and PSP...but I did it and after getting over the shock, I learned each program. There is no program that does has much as Picture It! and is as easy to use. Picture It! may not work on W7...Uh oh, bad news. Microsoft doesn't have a complete listing of what's not compatible with W7 but since W7 will run what Vista will run, I looked there and your Picture It! 9 is incompatible. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/Search.aspx?type=Software&s=Microsoft%20Picture%20It%21%20Photo%20Premium%209 This isn't as bad as it sounds because W7 has a wonderful compatibility mode. If you can find a copy of Picture It! and want to experiment, buy it and give it a try in XP compatibility mode. Picture It! should be really cheap. Since you've already got PSP X2, have you tried using the Learning Center? Click on View, scroll down and hover the cursor on Palettes and click on Learning Center in the list that appears. There's a lot to PSP but if you take the baby steps first, you'll see that some things work like they do in Picture It! even if they look different and they're called something else; i.e., you can use the Layers Palette like the Stack. Just click and drag layers where you want them. Good Luck! I still remember how frustrating it was to move up to another program after Picture It!
