Diet shopping list?

I need a shopping list of the foods I should buy at the grocery store for my diet.

Public Comments

  1. Any vegetables. Any fruits. Whole grains. Nuts. Egg whites. (The yolk is only fat) Skim or soy (soy is better) milk. Lean meats (chicken) and seafood.
  2. Buy a lot of produce. You can't go wrong with fruits and vegetables. Also, buy whole grains, the fiber will keep you full for hours. Make sure you read the label: whole wheat/grain should be the first ingredient. Finally, just a handful of nuts has enough protein to keep you satisfied when you need something between meals.
  3. I always make a list of the dinner meals that we're going to have over the next few weeks. Then I make my shopping list to fulfill all those dinners. If you have a specific diet that you're following then it should be pretty easy to use their recipes. But if you're just trying to diet on your own and eat healthy, then pick meals that include lots of veggies and will still fill you up.
  4. I agree with everyone above. Personally, I like to buy a lot of rice cakes to snack on. I still get my nutrients and stuff at meals, but rice cakes fill you up while not cramming a lot of calories. Same with unbuttered popcorn. It's a good snack. Always drink lots of water too!! Best of luck on your diet. It's an uphill battle :(
  5. If you are going on an effective diet, I imagine it will be high protein, low carb, moderate fat. If this is the case, then the following are some suggestions: Protein: whey protein powder chicken white fish (tilapia, orange roughy, etc) turkey lean red meat (95% lean or better) tuna egg whites carbs: oatmeal sweet potato/yams brown rice green vegetables healthy fats: olive oil nuts/seeds flaxseed Good luck -Josh
