Vegetarian grocery shopping list?
Hey, so I am going grocery shopping today, I have just recently turned Vegetarian and I was wondering if somebody could give me a complete list of Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts, and other products I need. I'm not going to be buying spices and beans. Just a note, I also do not drink milk. So that would be it! Thanks for the help! =]

- Don't make this hard. Just get the fruits and veggies, nuts, etc. that you enjoy. Think about getting some tofu for protein. You may need to consider beans cause they are a good source of protein. Look for some quinoa which is a complete protein in itself. Quinoa is similar to couscous (sorta) and you can add so much to it! Good luck.
- Lettuce, croutons, lemons, garlic, onion, peppers, apples, salad dressing, tomatoes, cucumbers, clerey, carrots, dips, crackers, bread, noodles, plain pasta sauce, frozen peas, corn, mixed vegetables, soy burgers, tea, bananas, apples, blueberries, broccoli, brown rice, almonds, peanuts, bagels, peanut butter and jelly.
- Just walk thru the aisles and see what you want and buy it. Start out in the vegtable and fruits section. You can always buy soymilk instead of cow's milk. There are a million things you can make to eat that's vegetarian. Since you're new to this then to start out go thru vegetarian cookbooks at the library. They have easy to make vegetarian dishes as well as vegetarian cookbooks for college students. That way your ingrediant list is small and they're easy to prepare. That's what I did, and it just snowballed from there. I haven't used meat in my dishes in 10yrs and I can cook anything anyone else can....only better...haha.
- family doctor's experience: from the last time i checked "Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts" are not connected with animal products, so they are safe. organic doesn't mean it is organix bec. the precentages differ from one company to another company, so u need to the research on organic products that u buy. Buy only products u trust. Some prodcuts are 10 % organic, others are 73% and others are 93 % organic, so beware
- I eat a lot of grapes, apples (I prefer braburn or fugi), cherries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, pineapple and oranges. Veggies.... spinach, yellow squash, corn, tomatoes, asparagus, cucumbers, broccoli, coliflower, zucchini, fresh green beans, few potatoes(they are less often for me), snow peas or sugar snap peas.... oh yea, and onions(I usually get both white and red).... garlic.... bell peppers.... lettuce... That usually makes up the bulk of my grocery list as far as fruits and veggies that I can think of off hand. good luck and I hope it helps.
- You dont really need a list of veggies, fruits and nuts..they all will be right there in the market. Choose what you like.

- Silk Soy Milk (has just abour every vitamin you need) Some kind of nutritious cereal Walnuts (omega 3 [or 6, I forgot which] fatty accids) Brocoli, always good for stirfry Tomatoes Kiwis Spinach Mustard Greens Watermelon Bok Choy Firm Tofu Potatoes Portabellow Mushrooms Pineapple Mangos Onions Garlic Orange Juice Sea Weed Spaghetti Noodles Pasta Sauce (Prego is good) Hm....I really can't think of much else unless you bake your own goods then I suggest bread flower, all purpose flower, and some yeast.
